Long-term owners want a pool that stays easy to use as the years go on. Owners of let properties need one that is safe for guests they will never meet. Those sound like different problems and they buy the same things: a solid rail at the steps, a pool you can see the edge of after dark, and a cover that keeps the water right between visits.

**Polymer handrails.** Saftron rails do not corrode the way stainless eventually does along the passage, and they do not get too hot to hold on a summer afternoon the way metal does. They come in a range of colours and fit standard anchors, so on many pools this is a straightforward swap rather than a project.

**Step and edge marking.** Contrast tape and tile-line treatments make the first step visible in low light, which is when most slips happen. It is the cheapest safety item in the shop and the one people think of last.

Billabong does **not** issue pool safety certificates and does not perform pool safety inspections — that is a licensed pool safety inspector's work, and it is a separate engagement from anything supplied here.

Why choose a polymer handrail over stainless steel?

Along the passage, salt air eventually finds stainless — you get surface rust, then staining down the pool wall beneath it. Polymer does not corrode and stays cool underfoot in summer, which matters more than it sounds like it should on a hot afternoon.

Can you fit a handrail to my existing pool?

Usually yes. Where there are existing anchors we often work with them; where there are not, new anchors can be cored into most concrete and paved surrounds.

Do you do pool safety certificates?

No. That requires a licensed pool safety inspector. We supply and install the equipment side and can point you toward the right person for the certificate.

Can you look after the pool between guests?

Yes, and it is a common arrangement here. We schedule around changeovers and send a report after each visit, so you know the state of the pool without being there.

Can I add lighting if there is no cable to the pool?

Often yes — LedecSun solar lights exist for exactly that situation, and they avoid the cost and disruption of running new cabling to an older pool.

My ladder is rusty at the anchor. Is that urgent?

It is worth dealing with sooner rather than later. Corrosion at an anchor point is a structural question as well as a staining one, and the stain gets harder to remove the longer it runs.
