What matters most on a new pool
New shells behave differently from settled ones, and getting the first year right saves money for a decade.
- Curing and calcium — a new concrete or rendered interior leaches lime and lifts pH for months. Left alone it scales the waterline and etches the finish. We test and correct on a tighter cycle through that window.
- Filter running-in — construction fines will load a brand-new filter faster than anything it sees later. Pressure gets checked every visit, not occasionally.
- Stabiliser from zero — a fresh fill has none, and without it Sunshine Coast UV strips free chlorine within hours. Getting the level right early is the single biggest saving on a new pool's chemical bill.
- Equipment setup — pump run times, timer schedules and chlorinator output configured to your actual pool volume rather than the builder's default.
- Full clean — skim, vacuum, brush, baskets and a rinse of any dust-caked plant.
